The Garibaldi Patch) have a very distinctive look. Each newsboy cap has, of course, a brim and every crown is formed from eight even panels with a button at center top, so I'll bet you're thinking it would be pretty hard to give such similar shapes individual characters. Ha! (Excuse me.) Compare if you will the aforesaid Garibaldi with The Antonio, a Scala scrap leather cap. Both caps are pieced together from carefully selected cutting room table fragments, but you can see how unique they each become as a result of the differing materials, patch shapes and even stitching styles used. Sometimes, the men's caps for sale here at MensHats.com are just so nice that I can't decide which one to offer, and I put them all together. Now I ask you, is it possible to choose between them? Thank goodness there's only one Italian Newsboy! If Scala had offered their luxurious wool cap (with button top and snap peak, jacquard lining and cushion front) in a myriad of colors or other materials, I might have snapped my own peak.
It's so many apples and oranges when trying to compare the perfect rendition of the classic driver style newsboy, called the Harris Tweed Cap from City Sport of Belgium with a traditional cap crafted in kid leather by Henschel Hats, the latter put forth in brilliant hues including Belligerent Black, Balmy Bone, Gorgeous Green and Radiant Red. However, comparisons are possible when examining, say, The Borsalino Doria Newsboy, a truly handsome 100% wool satin-lined cap, against any of the relaxed newsboy styles from Capas Headwear, whether made from wool melton or tweed. In fact, the size of the caps themselves (when it comes to their Big Apple newsboys offered in leather, as well as the aforesaid wool tweed and wool melton) sets them apart from the standard. At a full 12 inches in diameter, and fitted with an elastic sweatband, these newsboys are definitely big league: we're talking one size fits all--up to some very big heads.
