fedoras, including those from Carlos Santana like The Liberation, a vented hat in toyo with tie print trim, guitar pin and a 1 3/4 inch bound edge brim, The Sleek, a fedora in Sinamay with plaid ribbon band and stingy 1 1/2 inch bound brim, and The Shifter, an open weave Panama hat. This last one just makes the stingy brim hat definition with a two inch brim, and it sure looks good with that brim in a contrast weave. It's finished with a ribbon with Indian print overlay, satin-lined crown tip and tooled leather sweatband.

For something very different, take a look at the hats Kangol's brought to the stingy brim table. The Buckle Arnold is a Panama fedora with a contrast colored snap brim measuring two inches, and a vibrant red trim with brass buckle. It's made in the USA as is that other stingy brim hat from Kangol, The Buckle Porkpie, a Panama hat shaped into a classic pork pie hat silhouette. The trim and contrast brim is the same as on the fedora, but the brim is stingier, measuring 1 1/2 inches.

The Delano is a new hat from Bailey Hats this season and like the Kangol hats, it's also made in the USA. The two-inch brim is contoured and the fedora with its deep dip crown is in an open weave para-Sinamay with tonal trim and feather. Another stingy brim hat from Bailey is called The Mannesroe. This center dent poly braid fedora has a two inch contrast braid snap brim and Bailey badge. The Mannes is also a poly braid fedora from Bailey Hats, featuring a teardrop crown, 1 5/8 inch snap brim and multi-tonal trim. Until it sells out, this hat is available in your choice of Charcoal or Grain.

I predict a new favorite with The Abby Road, a fabulous shantung straw fedora from Biltmore. This stingy brim hat has open weave venting, a two inch snap brim, leather sweatband and grosgrain trim with tonal overlay. It wouldn't surprise me either if a new classic Scala stingy brim hat, The Telescope Crown Pork Pie, became a top pick for the season. This is a dress Panama hat with a two inch brim, grosgrain ribbon band, covered crown tip and comfortable grosgrain fabric sweatband. For lightweight comfort, try The Sinamay/Hemp Fedora from Stacy Adams. The blend of sinamay straw and hemp makes for an incredibly cool hat, shaped with a pinch front and finished with a fancy textured ribbon trim, pin and feather.
