warm. Case in point is The Rex by Borsalino. Stylish and warm cuz it's made by those famed Italian master hat craftsmen who have done it up in donegal tweeds with quilted lining. Fun cuz it's a crushable hat (and also cuz it comes in Olive). Borsalino doesn't stop the fashion fun at hats: from their Doria line you can don their satin-lined wool ivy or newsboy cap (both available in your choice of black or brown tweed). The Kangol trilby, a jaunty 100% wool herringbone rex, is fun too. Somewhat imaginatively called The Gaffer, it's a wonderful woolen walking hat for men and sports that great kangaroo logo just above the famous Kangol name. Mix and match style comes with the Harris Tweed scarf, which you can pair with either of the two caps made from the same hand-loomed fabric of the Scottish Isles of Lewis and Harris: the ivy cap or the newsboy. Whichever you choose, you'll look (and feel) like a million bucks (and you may start speaking with a wee Scots accent).
JB Stetson is no stranger to world of men's wool hats, I think you'll agree. The Hatteras II is one example of why I can't resist their tweed hats and caps. The 100% wool newsboy cap is presented in a herringbone pattern with sewn down brim and wool lining. Another of their caps I think you'll find impressive is called The Hiko, an ivy cap styled in the elongated manner of longshoreman's caps. Here Stetson uses a richly textured pure wool for the herringbone pattern (in black), and lines the cap with satin just because.
If you're looking for an ivy cap with earflaps, Scala offers a simply spiffy Italian-made tweed cap in herringbone. Not only does it have the requisite dropdown ear flaps, it's also got a nice jacquard lining for comfort. Of course, Scala has handsome ivy caps without ear flaps too (they're versatile that way). The Italian Herringbone Ivy is just such a lined men's cap with cushioned front, and it's a very handsome one at that.
